TWO A DAY, EVERYDAY. TWO A DAY, EVERYDAY.

Out of the blue last night, Ken says to me, "our team needs a mantra that they say out loud daily, 'Two a day, everyday. Two a day, everyday." to keep them consistently and daily sampling people with the V3." Although said randomly after a lovely Memorial Day of barbecue and seeing a movie, he was actually right. If you are truly serious about building a thriving Voyager business for yourself - right from the comforts of home, you must consistently sample "two a day, everyday" without missing a beat, or a day. Consistency is key. 


What is a mantra anyway? Well, according to Webster, "A mantra is a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that is considered capable of "creating transformation". That's a pretty strong definition, especially if that transformation turns you from just merely dreaming about building a business, to actually sampling new people everyday, following up, using the 4-Step System, and sponsoring those people into the business! And the more people you sample, the more people you will sponsor, and the more people you sponsor, the more likely it is that you will see great success with your business building!

OK, so back to the basics of business building. I tend to rhyme things, or use fun phrasing to help train distributors. Although at times this is annoying, it does work. Kind of like when in grade school we had to memorize historical facts. I'd find some way to remember them with words and phrases. So, here's an oldie, but goodie ... SAMPLE, SELL, SPONSOR, SUPPORT. Note that the "process" with prospecting and recruiting starts with SAMPLE. That leads me back to the daily mantra. All together now... "Two a day, everyday. Two a day, everyday." Got it? Now... do it!

BE COACHABLE

As Network Marketing professionals, we are in a constant recruiting mode, seeking to find that golden Prospect. The Prospect who catches the vision of your opportunity, falls in love with the business, and most importantly, is coach-able. 


These "golden" Prospects look to the proven leaders for guidance and "tweaking". Then they simply follow the path and the plan that has been carved out for them to duplicate. They don't question the "system" being taught, but ask how they can do it better. They don't complain that it's not happening fast enough for them. They just work a little harder. These individuals are rare, but when found, it's an honor, blessing, and joy to behold. The key is don't stop looking until you find these individuals. They are waiting to be found.


I had such a privilege this past trip while in Michigan. I found that "golden" Prospect, turned Director. In fact, I met lots of incredible people while on the road this past week. Starting in Valdosta, GA with Executives Robin and Jerry Williams, Gretchen Gutman, and Nancy Feinberg. Then on to Grand Blanc, MI with Executives, Elaine Tomrell, Annie and Tom Arnes, and Karen Mora. Then again in Huntington, WV with Shelley Ball. All rare gifts to this industry and to Voyager Health Technologies as a start-up company. They are the foundation - the backbone to our incredible future! I love them all.


Our newest Executives are from West Bloomfield, Michigan - Scott and Judy Roberts. I didn't know these individuals before going there to do a meeting and breakfast. I had just heard from their upline Executive, Carol Levine-Gilbert, that they were awesome. I had no idea! And that's where this post begins.

Scott and Judy Roberts are the perfect example of coach-ability. "Tell me what to do and I'll do it," is why they achieved Executive and in a matter of days from when I left their area. They duplicated everything that is necessary to succeed. From using the recorded hotline messages, the team support site www.burgessbiz.com, the 3-way calling, the 90-second commercial, the Biz Binder with 1-31 tickler, down to blowing up a few of the new power point presentation pages, making it into a flip chart, it was a beautiful thing. It was music to my ears, and slam dunks to my eyes (Yes, my kids are basketball players!)


Scott and Judy never questioned the system I taught. They never complained. They never asked for favors. They only asked questions that moved their business forward. They duplicated everything down to the very lingo I used. (Which can be "interesting", to say the least... "lookin' & cookin'!", "rockin' & talkin'", etc.) Pure joy! 


You all need to be coach-able. Do what we teach you to do to succeed. Use the 4-step system. Get on every call. Participate - Plug In - Promote with this business. Don't attempt to re-invent the wheel. DO TO DUPLICATE. The best athlete's, the best operatic singers, the Gold Medal winners - all have coaches to guide them, to tweak them, to help them do things more effectively and better. That's what makes someone that is "good" ... "great!" Be that person. Be coach-able!

FIELD TRAINING

What a great quote! Our goal with this amazing Network Marketing business is, and always has been, to create leaders who then create leaders, who then create leaders, and so on.  I've trained from the stage for years the each of you as a leader must, "get your people making money fast." That's why field training is so important to the success of developing and growing your team. 


It's time to look over that Sponsoring 48-Hour Checklist. You'll see that the first step for a new recruit is to meet with their sponsor within 48 hours to go over that list, get their questions answered, start writing their Prospect 200 list, and create an action plan for success. This 48-Hour Checklist in reality is similar to a tradition corporate "business plan" meeting. It is a sort-of "orientation" for the new person. Meet and go over that list together. The checklist makes that meeting simple. Just follow the checklist.


The 48-Hour Checklist includes doing the first few calls with your sponsor vs have your new recruit call their contacts alone. It also includes teaming-up and doing 2-on-1 appointments together, and Launch Parties. This is what I refer to as Field Training. When you help your new recruit see success right out the gate, they start making money immediately, and realize how simple this business really is! They say, "I can do this!" Remember, the Prospect always asks two questions...1) What's in it for me? 2) Can I do this? When you field train your people, question #2 is answered. It's not "do as I say." It's "do as I'm doing." Executive Leadership

I've been blogging a great deal lately about leadership. Maybe it's because as I traveled to Valdosta, GA, Grand Blanc, MI, West Bloomfield, MI and Huntington, WV this past week, I saw true leadership in action with every city, and it inspired me. Such a gift to any company are the key leaders who truly catch the long-term vision of the opportunity, grab a hold of it, and run fast and focused with the opportunity, paving a duplicable way for their teams to follow.

Leaders make or break companies with Network Marketing. When field leadership is strong, a company can do the basics with what needs to be done to accomplish their long-term goals. These goals are to see that billion a year mark, and a 25-year celebration in business down the road. This puts them into that coveted legendary category. These legendary companies are few and far between, mostly due to not having true field leadership that is anchored deep with commitment, loyalty, integrity, focus and vision. Most of the Network Marketing's top earners jump from "deal to deal" seeking to be at the top of the heap with the latest thing to come down the pipeline, and are willing to cut guaranteed deals to do this. They then quickly bring in a team (or not), and then leave to hop on to the next hot deal, repeating this behavior over and over again. And, sadly enough, this type of action leaves a trail of disheartened people in its wake, which reflects very badly on the entire Network Marketing business as a whole. Their bad behavior hurts us all and gives Network Marketing a bad name.


In contrast, what I witnessed while on the road this past week, is that we have with Voyager, a handful of great leadership in the field - all having achieved (and ready to achieve) that first step of leadership in Voyager, called Executive. They are committed to the long-term growth of the company, and realize that for a company to succeed, it just needs a hot, in-demand diet product (V3), and a cutting-edge pay plan (coded bonuses, matching checks), and the rest can be accomplished with the leadership in the field - all leading the way, doing consistent biz building activities with passion.

We have true leadership with vision, commitment, creativity and a strong work ethic. They are gathering their teams, holding the biz brunches and luncheons, area meetings and trainings, and communicating with everyone involved. They are participating with the weekly Thursday night calls, and nightly Blitz calls, are on the Saturday morning Success Strategies calls. They are following the proven 4-Step System, teaching it, and are setting the example - the pace of the leader is the pace of the pack - as they say. They are exactly what is needed to make for a legendary company. And we celebrate and embrace every single one of our Executive leaders. 


Thank you to those leaders who have stepped up to the plate with Voyager Health Technologies. Thank you for growing with us as a company. Thank you for setting the pace and being the example that is so needed. With you setting the pace, we will hit momentum this year and we will reach our goals. With you guiding your team, the sky is the limit. Thank you for creating a strong foundation for us to stand on and grow from. thank you for taking your Executive leadership seriously. TEAM UP!

I loved being on the road meeting face-to-face with the key leaders of Voyager in Valdosta, GA, Grand Blanc, MI, West Bloomfield, MI and Huntington, WV. Loved seeing these teams teaming up and celebrating the Voyager opportunity! I loved hearing the success stories with the product. They were trained with the Fast Track training, held Biz Brunches,  group Biz Briefing meetings, and individual meetings. It was awesome.


Associates need to feel that team spirit. They need to be gathered together and given vision and direction. Too many Network Marketers enroll and escape. Yikes! You must sponsor and meet. Meetings do two important things - RESELL the DREAM to the EXISTING TEAM (people lose their vision too quickly), and SELL the DREAM to NEW PEOPLE. Leaders need to stay plugged in and pumped. Then share everything with their teams with calls, email updates, telephone calls, and gatherings. Once a month gather the entire area together and recognize your teams efforts and do the new Power Point presentation that I just uploaded to www.burgessbiz.com. Once a month gather your team and hold a FAST TRACK training using the power point I uploaded, as well. The rest of the week, team up and do Launch meetings for newbies, In-Home presentations, face-to-face, individually or with your sponsor, invite and 3-way new people to the nightly BLITZ calls and never miss the Thursday night 18 Minute Biz Briefing calls at 6pm PST. Use the Saturday Success Strategies call at 7am PST (10EST) to again gather your team at a home or snuggly location (comfortable), have them bring their Biz Binders to assemble, contact lists, and speaker-phone the training into your gathering. Afterward - sizzle about what is taught, then make a plan of attack to slam your area! Use and abuse these incredible tools and training to make money fast. Strategies taught are proven and very valuable to you and your team. Do to duplicate!


Team Up guys! Don't work alone. It was once said that Team Work divides the task and multiplies the success. When an area is cookin' together, you will see yourself become magnetic. You will begin to attract others to take a look, take a sample, take a spot with your team. Be magnetic. Do what ya gotta do to make things happen around you. Set the pace. Sample two a day, everyday. Sponsor someone new every week. Shake the bushes. Share the dream. Don't work alone. Be an important part of the team. Team Up, create excitement, have fun, and Boogie!!!

WE NEED LEADERS

I'm not sure where I heard this quote, but it applies beautifully to the ultimate, long-term success of our Voyager business. What every Network Marketing company needs to succeed are excellent leaders in the field. Leaders are often born with leadership instinct, however, leaders can also be developed within the team.

Leaders need to set the "pace for the pack." Leaders need to set the example for their team with consistent personal sponsoring. Leaders need to rank advance quickly, again setting the pace. Leaders need to gather their people weekly and hold in-home meetings. Leaders need to do 3-way calls to validate the opportunity. Leaders need to follow and teach the 4-step system. Leaders need to recognize the efforts of their team, whether large or small. Leaders need to be positive. Leaders must be focused and working towards their goals. Leaders edify the upline and empower the downline.

My CRAZY ATE'S ... Motivate, Update, Communicate, Congratulate, Rejuvenate, Evaluate, Anticipate and Initiate. Leaders embrace the Crazy Ate's, and make things happen. They stay on target for themselves and the team. They keep their team in the loop. They ride one horse over the finish line, and don't diffuse or discount the efforts of the team. They set their goals and work daily to achieve those goals. They help their team see the big picture by first painting that picture of hope and possibility.

I met some incredible leaders on this week long trip. From Valdosta, GA, Grand Blanc, MI, West Bloomfield, MI and West Virginia, leaders were seen leading the way with enthusiasm, focus, determination, hard work, love and commitment. I was honored to work along side them. I feel very blessed. You leaders are the CORE of what is going to be explosive over the next 3-5 years. Know who you are. Work hard. Love what you do. And know you are loved and appreciated for the people you are and will be. Thank you.

ONE SIMPLE LITTLE PILL!

One simple pill that, in less than four months, is changing lives far beyond the marketing goal of weight loss. Everywhere I have been this week - from Valdosta, GA, Grand Blanc, MI, West Bloomfield, MI to here in Huntington, WV, I am truly thrilled, and happily baffled and amazed at the success stories I am hearing about with our little "miracle" pill V3. Associates need to be on every Thursday night 18 Minute Biz Briefing call to hear what I am hearing. Hearing what I hear with our weekly calls, and now with face-to-face encounters with our customers, independent Associates and field leadership, I am more excited, renewed, committed, and invigorated to work harder, contact more people, and tell everyone I know, and want to get to know, for that matter, about V3. Yes, there are hot deals coming and going constantly in this country due to the economy challenges. Network Marketing thrives when people are financially struggling. But these so-called deals that are promising BMW's, instant downlines, guaranteed up-front monies, will never have the impact on people's lives as will our V3 product and Voyager business opportunity. Know that and work harder than you have ever worked to share V3.

Recognizing opportunity, then running hard with it will do more than just answer your financial prayers. It will make a difference in millions of lives. Why? Because the product, flat-out works. Victory over MOOD - ENERGY - APPETITE may seem trite. But the reality is, my wonderful Voyager friends, we have something very special that's time is long overdue. Know that. Stay focused. Share from your heart and let's kick butt with this off-the-charts product and breakthrough compensation plan. Do what you've got to do to immediately make Director, then Executive, then go ballistic with your business building. Make a difference with this one simple little pill. Don't Miss the Boat!

Elaine Tomrell, Executive Director, and I were chatting last night after a day of a leadership lunch and packed meeting here in Grand Blanc, MI, about people "getting it" and running hard and fast with the business opportunity.  And how sad if people are presented this opportunity of a lifetime, and don't get it ... and "miss the boat." So we do our best to share the dream that this business offers...hope and possibility.  But, as hard as we try, some just miss the boat, and after only 90 days in business, they quit.

I posted this quote from Samuel Johnson on Facebook today as I was reflecting what Elaine and I discussed this morning at 6am (really 3am PST). And that word "mortifying" best describes how we feel when someone is presented the Voyager opportunity and doesn't run with it. Down the road in possibly a year or two, they will realize what they missed. Lives are changed with this incredible V3 product. The stories shared from the room and on the Thursday night 18 Minute Biz Briefing calls at 9pm EST, drive home the need for what we have, and the impact it is already making in lives across this country. It is powerful!

Doing the Basics to Build Your Biz!

With my Facebook posts, you'll find me quoting coach John Wooden a great deal. Truly a man I admire. He was not only a winning basketball coach, but a great motivator and human being with strong core and family values. Somewhere in the boxes in the garage is a picture of him with my son, Chris, after he awarded Chris with John Wooden award. He always taught the importance of hard work and doing the "basics" - dribbling, passing, practicing, etc. He wasn't a fan of fancy maneuvering on the court - nor the slam dunk. He taught the basics and was heard saying "the basics win basketball games." Let's apply John's wisdom with building our Voyager business. If you do the basics of business building consistently - that means daily, I promise that you will be successful and "win" with Voyager as your vehicle to financial freedom, 


In the quote at the opening of this post, John stresses a player must be intent, having their goals well defined, then doing those things that get them closer to achieving those goals. That is such great advise for all of us. Your goals must be crystal clear, then your daily activities must be on point with achieving those goals. What are your activities? The basics. Create your Prospect 200 list, use the Tracker and Prospect Worksheets. Sample two a day, everyday. Use the One Minute Message, the hotlines, the 3-way call, the events to anchor in your weekly and daily sponsoring. The event means nightly Blitz Calls, Thursday 18 Minute Biz Briefing calls, In-Home meetings, parties, and area gatherings. Events give vision and validation to your prospecting. The 4-Step System simplifies everything you do with recruiting.


As John Wooden says with his quote, if you are intent on what you are doing, nothing can distract you. You will achieve your goals by just staying focused, excited and plugged in. Do the basics. Do to duplicate. Use the fun Diet Dollars, Plaster Plan "stuff" to shake the bushes, then focus those activities into doing the basics to build your biz, and have fun. Having a simple rock 'n roll diet pill, great comp plan and perfect timing, really makes this easy. Just keep your "intent" first and foremost in your mind, then do the basics consistently to see all of your goals and dreams come true. Begin doing the basics today!

You're Fired or Fire Up!

We've all heard "fire yourself and re-hire," with Network Marketers.  I really don't think you can do anything wrong in this business.  You can do things better, with more energy and commitment. But, as long as you are talking to two a day, everyday, sampling the V3 - you'll stumble across someone that catches fire and runs with the business. It's a numbers

Take a good look at your team. Ask yourself if anyone there is excited and doing what it takes to succeed?  You know, the 3-way calls, holding face-to-face appointments, in-home meetings, and sampling two a day, and sponsoring and building a team? If not, then "fire" your group and get a new one! :-) It's really that simple. Trust me, after trying to resuscitate my dead distributors over the years, I have learned to always work with those that work.  If someone talks a good story, but doesn't sponsor and build a team, I definitely keep them in the loop with emails, but I really don't focus there. I work with those that are working the business. Then I sponsor new. It's about having 20/20 vision is key. That means to sponsor 20, work with them, then anchor deep. Then sponsor 20 more, work with them, and anchor deep. Then sponsor 20 more and do the same. Then sponsor 20 more and anchor deep. Anchoring is to help those working sponsor and build the business. From each spurt of 20 sponsored, you will find 3-4 builders, lots of consumers, and of course, a number of no-shows. That's normal. A numbers game that when built consistently plays in your favor.

You can pretty much tell what has gone on during the day with my posts. When people have told me that they emailed someone and haven't heard back, I write about "Pick Up the Phone!"  :-) I bet you can tell what I just had happen today, right? Someone was complaining that no one was doing anything from their team. Ok ... get a new team. First - buddy up.  (Remember that post with pictures of my two sons, Chris and David?) Find someone with your commitment, your energy, your drive, your determination to build an empire with Voyager. Then buddy-up and run together fast. Sizzle, strategize, and build the team huge!

I think you've got the message. Team doing squat? Get a new team. You can make excuses or you can make money. Who said that? Oh yeah..A top Networking friend. Funny - but so true. All of us are buried-busy.We are often so wrapped up with making a living that we don't create a lifestyle. I choose to create a lifestyle.  So, even when I'm dead tired, I do that 3-way call, answer email questions, write  fun blogs, and still look to sponsor another new team members. Even when 7am feels like the middle of the night on Saturday mornings, I get up (shake off morning voice) to share what's in my head after 40 years in Network Marketing with my incredible team! Even when demands of family, church, music pull be to the limit, I get on the phones and book appointments. Two a day, everyday. Why?  because I love this business, love the freedom of working in my pj's, love my team, love my great leaders, love V3, love the comp plan, love the timing...love, love, love. That's it, my friends. Fall in love with what you're doing. Get fired up, sponsor new, then duplicate that passion over and over again. Then, of course, plug everyone right in with the systems laid out at our team support site www.burgessbiz.com!

PICK UP THE TELEPHONE!

In all of my years of training people how to successfully run a biz from home, I have always stressed the importance of picking up the phone and talking personally to people.  And to always answer the phone when people call. And to always return calls promptly.  My trainings even encouraged people, in a joking sort of way, to paint their telephones gold as a visual to making money.  Of course, no one has ever painted their telephones gold (that I know of), but the message is congruent in all of my trainings.  Pick up the phone and call people.

The phone pictured here is awesome because it's gold, and because I love the styling.  But any phone will do when you use it.  All of the wonderful high tech tools simplify building our Voyager business, and I will continue getting up to speed on every tool known to man for that purpose.  However, I build on the telephone.  This incredible people-to-people marketing business has to have that personal interaction with people talking to people. You can not effectively communicate your message through an email, text, or mailer.  If you want someone in the business with you ... pick up the phone and call them.  Even if you get their voice mail, call them.  Leave a simple message that says that you have an exciting new project that you want them to take a look at.  Then ask them to call you back as soon as possible and leave your telephone number, then repeat your number.  Don't overload with information.  Save that for the conversation and presentation.  Just get them to call you back.  If I know someone, have worked with them, and am certain that they will love this V3 product, my messages start to build momentum.  That means I add a sneak peak at what I've got.  If I've called more than 5x's leaving a message, then I may even sing. (no kidding!)  I just want them to call me back.

If you fear rejection ... let it go.  Pump yourself up, smile in the mirror on your desk, listen to great music, walk around the room as you talk ... whatever it takes.  You need to talk directly to your Prospects, customers, and downline team members.  You build relationships on the phone.  You build trust.  Your energy, passion, commitment and excitement can never come through with texting and emailing - no matter how many exclamation marks you leave at the end of the sentence!!!!! :=)  Use the Telephone Talk bullet sheet to keep you on track with your conversations.  Book the appointment to meet face to face.  Team up and Boiler Room your Prospecting on the phones (more on that Saturday morning with guerrilla marketing trianing).  Just ... here we go ... PICK UP THE TELEPHONE and make things happen in a huge way!

GUERRILLA MARKETING!


Do you ever get up early in the morning so excited about this business and want everyone on the planet to know about it?  Do you feel like standing on your roof and shouting, "I've got what you all need!  Come get it."  I have felt that way with this V3 product.  What we have needs to be shouted from the roofs of every Associate's home.  "We have what you need America!"
There are ways to "plaster" your areas with flyers, and sample more people if you understand the basics of what guerrilla marketing is all about. Guerrilla marketing goes beyond the normal face-to-face appointments, in-home meetings and 3-way calls with your sponsor. It stretches it's arms out to the masses, shaking the bushes to find those exceptional people who (we know) would love the V3 product, and would run and work hard with building the business. Guerrilla marketing can be magical and magnetic, especially with such a powerhouse product V3.  (When in doubt...diet!)
The concept of guerrilla marketing was invented as an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy and imagination rather than a big marketing budget. Typically, guerrilla marketing campaigns are unexpected and unconventional, always interactive, and consumers are targeted in unexpected places. The objective of guerrilla marketing is to create a unique and engaging concept to generate buzz, and consequently turn viral
Guerrilla marketing involves unusual approaches such as intercept encounters in public places, street giveaways of V3 samples, or any unconventional marketing intended to get maximum results from minimal resources. 
Well now.  I've always found unique ways to get the word out with my MLM business ventures over the years, i.e. Launch Parties, Biz Brunch's, book clubs, blind ads, newspaper ad give-aways, Pill Parties, bulletin board plastering with flyers, salon sampling, Diet Dollar incentives, 5-star meetings, Dove-tailing, speaker phone meetings, backyard biz barbeque's, pool pill parties, postcard mailers, thank you note incentives, etc.  But I never put a name on what I was doing. I just called it "blitzing."  
However, after talking to Tony R. this past weekend about our gorgeous Sampling Station, he apprised me of the proper term for what I was doing, and should teach others to do to generate local business ... guerrilla marketing.  And, I'm excited about it!

SINGING THE SAME SONG!

Ken and I just spent three great days in Las Vegas at Voyager's home office.  And although I was battling a flu bug, I feel we got a ton done for you, our fabulous Associates. Our goals?  Getting materials, support tools, the new website, hotline messages, training modules, new Associate Getting Started manual, promotions, etc. up and running so that we are all singing from the same page, the same beautiful song of Voyager at full voice in total harmony!

Just like singing in a choir, which I have directed for our church and community for years since the ripe old age of 17, everyone brings to the table something special to share. Different qualities to their voice, a different frequency of vibrato, a variance with tempo and dynamics.  But, with the right direction from the top of the team; with everyone remaining teachable, miracles can happen and the result is beautiful harmonies that make up a powerful message of hope and possibility in music to the world.  Our message?  Optimum health and wealth with Voyager Health Technologies - the next legendary company!

Singing from the same page requires memorizing your One Minute Message, using the recorded Hotlines, staying plugged in with the nightly Blitz calls, the Thursday 18 Minute Biz Briefing calls, the Saturday Success Strategies call and company scheduled events.  Singing in tune means listening to the 4 Basic trainings, putting together you Biz Binder with 1-31 Tickler, using the new Tracker Sheet to create a Prospect 200 list, then moving individual names for follow-up to a separate Prospect Worksheet.

Bringing your individualized, special harmonies to our finale number (the next billion dollar company), means learning the scripting for the In-Home and area meetings, face-to-face appointments, and telephone interactions, then adding your unique tone (story), and additional embellishments that interest you, (i.e. articles, statistics, etc.)  The make sure to share those harmonies (your success) with the weekly calls, on the website with before and after pictures and stories, and with everyone you meet.  Therein lies the empowering that comes only when you plug in, promote and participate.  And, of course when you are truly committed and involved in building your biz.

Follow direction from those that are leading the way and are proven leaders. Rehearse your story. Practice on your friends and family. Use your sponsor to help share that story.
